Rally legend Jimmy McRae was in Perth for the first McRae Motorsport Rally Sprint round of 2012. It was a great night with another stong entry list of Perths best tarmac rally cars competing over the former Targa West prologue stage. Highlight of the evening was seeing Jimmy and Alister's car control through the tighter parts of the stage. Jimmy drove the 00 car on the night which was one of our 911 RS replicas. It was a privilege to meet Jimmy and have him drive one of our cars.

Congratulations to Gary Jacobs in his quick Cayman, outright winner of the PCWA K-tec Cup for 2011. Held over eight rounds the cars are handicapped based on power to weight, creating a level playing field for all Porsche models.

Round 2 of the Australian Targa Championship took place over the weekend in the Victorian high country region. Another big field of both modern & classic cars battled it out on some of the countrys toughest tarmac rally stages. Our team from Ktec in the IKAD Engineering '74 911 RS finished on the podium again taking third outright in Classic Competitiion. They move to second in the championship. The team of Todd & Tighe took the win in the awesome '71 Ford Capri Perana from Siddins/Ferguson in a '70 Datsun 240Z.
The series countinues in January with the running of round 3 - Targa Wrest Point in Hobart

Porsche's dominated the Supaloc Classic Targa Adealide over the weekend, taking out first, second and third place in the classic competition. Kevin Weeks in his beautifully put together 1974, 911RS replica won his home event again beating home Matt Selley and Tolley Challis, both in '74RS replicas.
It was a good event for our team from Ktec with Tolley winning prologue then fighting it out with Selley over the entire event, eventually finishing a strong third with only seconds seperating them.

Porsche City Index Carrera Cup Australia drivers Daniel Gaunt & Michael Patrizi will head to Perth in November to drive with our team in the Wanneroo 300 enduro race meet to be held at Barbagallo raceway on Nov 11. Both drivers have just finished doing double duty at Phillip Island on the weekend competing in both the Carrera Cup and also the L&H 500 V8 supercar endurance race. Gaunt took the round win in Carrera Cup and Patrizi also had a good race weekend finishing 3rd in race 3. The team from K-Tec will be running 2 early 997 Cup cars at Barbagallo and will be looking for an outright win in the strong 32 car field.

Over 100 classic targa cars will head to the hills of Adelaide this weekend as the Supaloc classic targa Adelaide makes a return to the rally calender for 2011.

Our team from K-Tec will be running one of our 74' RS replicas on the event and will be looking for a strong result against some of the countrys best crews including Classic Adelaide winer Kevin Weeks, 74' RS and Targa Tasmania winner Tony Quinn in a 1990 Nissan skyline.

Another busy rally for our guys. We had Shane Attwell/ Mike Joss 911RS in second place before a harsh time penalty put them out of the running in competition classic. Another of our RS replicas took the outright win again this year. Second place in classic challenge went to Paul & Mitch Thompson in the Team Green motorsport 911RS. They finished just 3 seconds behind the leaders. In modern competition the 996 turbo of Ryan Cliffe/Ivan Tan was up to eighth outright before a turbo problem dropped them out of the top ten. The boys worked hard in Saturday nights service and fixed the problem with the left side turbo. Rob Slater in the red R replica had a gearbox problem, a spare box went in at the Toodjay service and he went on to record some good stage times. Another great event with all of our team crossing the finish line.

The K-TEC team will be chasing another outright win in the classic categories in the 2011 QUIT Targa West Rally. Competition Classic will again be tough to win with a strong field of pre 89' cars lining up in this years event. The team of Shane Attwell/Mike Joss will be fighting it out at the front once again in one of our K-TEC 74' RS replicas along with Rob Slater/Richard Harbron in a early 911 R' replica. In Classic Challenge we have another of our 74' RS recreations, the Team Green Motorsport entry driven by Paul and Mitch Thompson who will be looking to go one better this year and take the win in their class. Modern Competition is going to be hottly contested at the front with Jim Richards and Barry Oliver returning to WA in the new Porsche GT2RS to do battle with a fleet of Nissan GTR 35's. The team of Ryan Cliffe/Ivan Tan in a 996 Turbo prepped by our team here at K-TEC and with backing from Visual Inspirations and Go-Gear will be chasing a strong top ten finish.

Our team have a busy week ahead with this years Quit Targa West Tarmac Rally. This Thursday the action kicks off with prolouge and stages 1 & 2 out at Whiteman Park. The thrilling tarmac rally action then takes place east of Perth with stages in the shires of Kalamunda, Toodjay & Bullsbrook. Three full days of rally action then finish with the exciting city stage along Riverside drive in the city of Perth.

The K-TEC motorsport crew have five cars in this years event and will be looking for some strong results in three of the four categories.

The Vodko O Australian GT Championship kicked off with a 1 hour endurance race on the Friday night at this years Clipsal 500 race meeting. Current V8 supercar driver Karl Riendler won the Autotrader Trophy for sports cars at last weekends race meeting held at Barbagallo Raceway.
Driving the Ktec 997 Porsche Cup Car with backing from National Tyres and Wilson Security, Karl dominated the field with pole position and 3 race wins.
It was a great first outing for the Ktec team in a new car with limited test and development time.

K-Tec returns to the Australian GT Championship for 2011.

The team from K-Tec will re-join the Vodka O Australian GT championship for the 2011 series with Richard Bennett in his Peak Property Group Porsche 997 Cup Car.

Round 1 kicks off on the streets of Adelaide at the Clipsal 500. Teams will be competing for the Murray Walker Tourist Trophy with a 1-hour race to be run on the Friday evening with a 20 minute race on the Sunday before the V8 Supercars hit the streets.

The inaugural Killarnee Targa South West Rally held last weekend was a great success for the town of Pemberton with plenty of positive feedback from the competitors, officials and the local community.
Saturdays stages had something for everyone with some tight, loose, narrow sections of tarmac and then some fast sweeping stages through the beautiful surrounds of Manjimup and Pemberton Shires.
The four runs for crews over Sundays town stage proved to be a big hit with plenty of spectators lining the challenging streets of Pemberton to watch all the rally action.

The team at Ktec have just completed this 997 turbo look conversion on a 996 cabriolet.

An exciting new addition to the 2010rally calendar is fast approaching. The tarmac stages will be run on the roads in and around the south west town of Pemberton.
Killarnee Targa South West has been designed to give competitors the chance to gain more experience under tarac rally conditions and will be run as a non-competitive, timed closed road event in its first year.
With 50+ cars expected in 2010 it will be a great warm up event to Quit Targa West Rally later in the year.

This years Classic Adelaide Tarmac Rally had it all ... with the introduction of modern cars along with another tough field of classics it was a fantastic event despite some extreme hot weather early in the week temps soaring above 40 degrees, then we had rain later in the week. The team from Ktec had four cars competing, three classics and one modern car this year.
It was a great result with all four of our cars completing the gruelling four day event. Steve Cadden and Steve Strik had another great run in their early 911RS with 5th outright, first in class and claiming 3rd outight in the CAMS - Australian Classic Tarmac Championship 2009. OUr latest Ktec built '74 RS re-creation driven by Hans and Mark DeCorti had a strong first shakedown event and after an early fuel pressure problem the guys put in some impessive stage times on the last two days, giving them 13th position and 4th in class. The team will now focus on preparing for next season and some good results in the championship. The team RME Electrical porsche of Rod McCray and Geoff Briffa had a great event despite loosing a lot of time with a collapsed front wheel bearing which damaged the aluminium hub. This was the guys first rally and the team RME porsche will be back for a strong showing in season 2010.
In modern class the Summers Legal 997GT3RS or Paul Summers and Mike Arnold had a strong first visit to the Adelaide hills with some impressive stage times over the four days. The car is very fast in the dry and we now have a good understanding of what the car likes set up wise in the wet after some tricky stages in the rain over the four days of competition battling it our with the 4WD cars.
Kevin Weeks & Bec Crunkhorn again won the classic catergory in a 911RS and also take the win in the innagural Australian Classic Tarmac Championship for 2009.
The win in the modern catergory went to Allan Simonsen and Matt Lee in a Mitsubishi EVO9.

The Porsche Club of Western Australia Driving 4 Dreams event was held on Sunday 27th September 2009 supporting the wonderful work done by the Make A Wish Foundation

K-Tec is a great supporter of motor sport in Western Australia and the Porsche Club of WA.

Each year the Porsche Club WA does a huge and most worthwhile event known as Driving for Dreams. It is on again this year on Sunday September 27th!!

The 5th running of Quit Targa West kicks off this Thursday August 20 with prologue at the Kwinana Motorplex with a record field of 100 cars.

Then the rally action begins Friday morning with the official start from Forrest Place in the heart of the city from 7.30am. From there the cars and crews head to closed road special stages throughout the hills and surrounding districts of Perth returning each evening for service and repairs to the Burswood Casino Service Park.

The stunning 1953 HWM GP2 car we have been building made its debut at the recent regularity meeting held at Barbagallo Raceway on July 25.

The Shannons 1 Day Classic was run on Sunday the 19th July in wet and windy conditions. The rally is run by Automotive Event Management and the compact 1 day format was very popular with the 40 entrants.

A mixture of mini sprints and motorkhana's made up the 22 stages held at several locations across the Perth Metro area.

Round 4 of the Porsche Club of WA Sprint Series was held at Barbagallo Raceway on Saturday the 20th June 2009.

It was a good turnout of cars despite the forecast of wet weather. The slippery conditions made driving a stiffly sprung 911 tricky but great fun chasing the laster turbos and and GT3's around the short citcuit.

Quit Targa West will be bigger & better in 2009. With an increase in competitors numbers and with the introduction of the Australian Classic Tarmac Rally Championship, this years event promises to be the best yet.

Targa West is a tarmac event which is held over 4 days - 20th to the 23rd August 2009.

The team at Ktec will be looking to again win the Classic Competition Category for the 4th year in a row with one of our potent RS Replicas.

Our guys will also be providing rally support and re-fuel during this years event.

Round 3 of the Australian GT Championship featuring 2 x 1 hour races with John Bowe and Allan Simpson rejoining the field, along with regulars Jim Richards and David Wall in his 997 Cup S.

The team from Ktec are heading across for Round 2 of the Australian GT3 Cup Challenge with a strong 25 car grid of 996/997 cup cars mixing it with some very quick Gt3's.

There is also a Porsche Club regularity with some 35 Porsches taking part.

The Summers legal/k tec 997GT3RS driven by Paul Summers and co-driver Mike Arnold has taken the honours in class CMLMS-C. With a best time up the tough 16km course of 9mins 10secs the team took first in class, first 2WD car home and 12th outright.

The SUMMERS LEGAL RACING TEAM 997 GT3RS is on it's way east for an attack on this years Mt Buller sprint. The awesome 16km stage is run in the alpine mountain region 2.5 hours north of Melbourne in Victoria. Paul Summers and Mike Arnold will be looking for a strong result after some impressive stage times in this years Targa West tarmac rally.
With the car now running MOTON suspension and using KUHMO tyres, the team are pleased with the balance and handling of the car leading up to this years event.

A great turn out of cars for the Porsche club of W.A driver training & sprint weekend at the Collie circuit south of Perth. The team from K-Tec were there both competing & to provide support for customers and fellow members.
Collie is about 3hours drive south of Perth & the track now has Cams approval & a great surface with plenty of good accomadation available in the town centre.
